Exotic cucumbers in Seattle?

   

I stopped by Seattle, one of my favorite cities, for business recently and couldn't resist stopping by Tom Douglas' Palace Kitchen.  It's an old standby of mine and Marissa was in from LA too.  We learned they had a happy hour with small dishes one of which was made up of 'exotic cucumbers' from the Pacific Northwest.   Seriously, who knew?!   (Bonus photo from the plane of Mt. Rainer - one of the most beautiful places!  Have you been there?)

Cacao fruit in NYC?

I'm not sure how but it seems that cacao fruit showed up in the brand new Riot Room this past week.... it's tough to find in the US but it's well worth searching for it.   The fruit tastes like a combination between passion fruit and kiwi -- so amazing.   Here are Geneve and Liz now with our beloved cacao fruit.  :)

I just made the journey South and it was amazing as always.  I never run out of motivation to make the long winding journey to the farm to see the fruit, the farmers like my buddy, Hector, and the beautiful landscape.   YOu can find cacao farms plus or minus 20 degrees of the equator and certainly my favorites are in places like Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Brazil, and Peru.  If you ever have the chance, jump at it.  In fact, have you been to a cacao farm?  Please share your stories.

The new and improved Riot Room!

Just a few weeks ago, sweetriot's office partners in Soho decided to unexpectedly move from their space and so our search quickly started for a new one.   Luckily, we found an amazing home just 4 blocks away in the lovely Village neighborhood of Noho.  We're actually in a historic building with a gallery too!  The team all jumped in (see Liz packing, Erica/Arti coordinating) to make it happen in just a few days time including a few trips to IKEA (Clare pictured above at IKEA Brooklyn).   Presenting our new Riot Room -- and sweetriot listed on the outside door!

It's Fashion Week in NYC!

It's Fashion Week for Spring 2009 in NYC and it's hard to keep the rioters away.  Geneve and Clare were spotted rioting at the Charlotte Ronson Fashion Show at the Bryant Park Tents.  sweetriot was in the VIP gift bags!

It seems Clare and Geneve were also joined by Lindsay Lohan and her girlfriend Samantha Ronson who were spotted in front row seats.  Other celebs include Jessica Szohr who plays Vanessa on Gossip Girls.  Samantha was given sweetriot last year when she was spinning the tunes at her twin sisters Charlotte’s show and the Gossip Girls are already sweetriot fans!  :) 

 

Go, Yankees!

We're in the final days of summertime in NYC and our beloved stadium is in it's last year after 85 years of playing glory.  I was lucky to find a few tickets from a fellow entrepreneur for a game and was accompanied by the lovely Delman boys - Jonathan and Jeffrey and my college friend, Dave, (who incidentally came up with the name, sweetriot, while walking down the streets of Greenwich Village with me in the spring of 2005).   A great time was had by all!  :)   (Check out the sneak peek at the new stadium too!)

Amazing city!

I cruised around Manhattan recently with the SVN community... our sights included the Statue of Liberty, the Manhattan skyline, and the lovely Hudson River of course.   I love NYC!   The SVN community also nominated sweetriot for the SVN Innovation Award - Rumor has it we were close to finalists - what an honor - go, rioters!
