Green Festival Chicago

sweetriot recently went to the Green Festival in Chicago!  Imagine over 20,000 attendees who care about the environment and world and over 100 companies there too from food, media, energy, and more.  There are more coming up in DC and San Francisco in the Fall.  We loved rioting there!  Thanks to Andrew, Grace, Matt, Ellen, Naomi, Travis, and everyone for coming out!

Happy Earth Day!

 

It's Earth Day, and sweetriot is excited to announce our new carbon offset program when you order sweetriot online.  We are teaming up with Carbonfund.org to offer rioters the opportunity to get involved in the carbon offsetting movement.  In fact, we are the first cacao & chocolate retailer to offer customers a chance to improve the world through carbon offsets.  :) 

sweetriot is offsetting all of its employee travel and office emissions and now you can join the effort by offsetting your shipment’s CO2 emissions.  Just add ‘riot carbonfree’ to your sweetriot shopping cart.  For just a small fee, you can offset your carbon emissions.

By doing so, you will invest 50¢ into climate-friendly projects such as energy efficiency, renewable energy, and reforestation.  This effectively offsets the carbon dioxide emitted by delivery vehicles when shipping from our warehouse to your front door.  Going “carbon neutral” is an easy way to take responsibility for the greenhouse gas emissions caused by our everyday activities.

With your help, we’re sure it’s a trend that will catch on!

In fact, today we celebrated Earth Day at the Green Festival in Chicago.  More on that later!  :)

Patricia Field's store

Patricia Field's store celebrated its 1st anniversary this week.  If you don't know Patricia, you may know her amazing work including all of the fashion for the Sex and the City and The Devil Wears Prada.  She also happens to appreciate the riot, so we were happy to serve cacao at her latest fiesta.  In fact, it was a perfect stop for our newest rioters, Edna and Geneve.

Patricia's store is beautiful and happens to have a dazzling array of clothing and objects.   Word on the street is that you may just find sweetriot there too because everyone deserves cacao!  Happy Anniversary, Patricia and team! 

Geneve's Riot-tation!

Geneve started this past week at sweetriot.  Geneve is our new rioter from the West Coast, and she'll be with us for a few months in NYC before heading back to take care of our Western friends.  She's already been found chasing UPS trucks, stocking shelves at stores, and more!

Geneve has a dark past of dealing pharma drugs, and we're excited she's moving to the healthy cacao dark side instead.  You can read more about her bio here.
