My friend, Helena, put on a great show this past weekend. She is inspired by grafitti found in NYC and has set up a beautiful collection of photos. Check her out through March 17 at Miwa Alex. Helena is a total rioter!
Plenty Magazine is worth a read. Plenty has been covering green companies well before many others in the media world. They had a great party at City Bakery (one of our favorite NY haunts) to celebrate their 'plenty 20' of great companies doing eco work. sweetriot was proudly featured in their goody bags, and the event was quite a good time. Even our friends and fellow rioters, Alfredo and Anessa, took time off to come play.
We were excited when the culinary center, COPIA, invited us to participate in their annual 'Death By Chocolate' event this past weekend in Napa Valley. It was even cooler being there in person.
Imagine chocolate everywhere and a setting overlooking the wine vineyards of Napa Valley. Geneve and Rachelle came to riot while Kareem and Charles were chaperoning along the way. Thanks to all for a great event!
The new artist for our tins has been voted in - it's Lane Last! You'll see his art in the late summer. In fact, Lane was visiting NYC last week for a conference and was able to stop by sweetriot headquarters. Here he is in our office visiting with Nina, Theo, Matt, and me.
What happens when Levi throws a party in LA? People travel. In this case, I was in SF for an event in Napa and scheduled my flights to get to Levi's in time for some sweetriot cacao sponsorship. Levi even hired a D.J. -- nice -- girl power!
We have a new full-time rioter! It's true - thanks to his rioting niece, Alissa, we found Theo in our own backyard.
First and foremost, Theo is an entrepreneur - he was the co-founder of the infamous Lower East Side Lansky Lounge; he studied at the New England Culinary Institute, and he has showed off his culinary magic at Fore Street and Blue Hill; plus, he's an artist too! We're so lucky to have him. He will be managing business development in the NYC area and more.
HUGE WELCOME to Theo for joining us on the sweetriot cacao dark side.
It was another crazy Valentine's season at sweetriot. We celebrated by traveling to Whole Foods Chocolate Fests in not just one location but rather in NYC, NJ, DC, and Austin!
You'll see some of our best rioting friends too -- sharing the cacao love this valentine's day. Thanks to Charles, Zeynep, Sachi, Craig, and more for rioting with us and to the great Valentine's team at sweetriot including Liz, Evie, Theo, Nina, Matt, Courtney, Danny, and more!
We love Marc Jacobs. We think his style is riotous. So, we decided to share a little cacao with his partygoers at Fashion Week. Not only did we riot outside of his show in freezing temperatures, but we also stopped backstage to drop a Valentines Day Lovers Pack to Marc personally.
We can just see him eating his yummy cacao right now - a well deserved break after orchestrating a huge show. :) Thanks to Courtney, Cornell, and Theo for rioting along....
What do you when a rock and roll designer asks for sweetriot cacao for her Fashion Week show? Well you say, yes, of course! :)
Jordi Scott is an up and coming designer who just broke away from the fantastically creative Betsey Johnson to do her own line. We were there on Monday evening and it was ROCKING. Check out some photos here.
