It's funny. Sometimes you go somewhere to escape only to be found again. I figured I should take a break from work far, far away in North Africa. I went to Marrakesh, Morocco to meet friends and couldn't resist talking about life, love, and (yes, a bit of sweetriot).
Despite my escape from work, the last day there I decided to give away some sweetriot, and the reaction was stunning. It truly crosses borders.
At the local bar where one person received it, the others came asking. I was traveling with friends from 3 continents (Australia, Africa, and Europe) and they loved the concept too.
My favorite experience was where we were staying. I gave sweetriot to someone who works there as she left for the day. Afterwards, I was in the shower and heard a frantic knocking. In French, she explained how she needed one more tin. After giving it to her, she smiled and kissed me on both cheeks. So cute! I always hoped sweetriot was a global concept, and every day I believe it more and more.
