If you haven't been to Latin America, you have to go! It is such a warm and welcoming place. Nina and I made a trip down to Latin America to experience the land of cacao.
Nina had not been there and I especially wanted to take her because all of her amazing work on sweetriot. Plus, I want all rioters to see a real cacao farm -- it gives one a completely different perspective on the true origin of chocolate -- the cacao fruit.
Our trip this time took us to Colombia where they grow wonderful premium cacao. Colombia also happens to be home to some of the most open and beautiful people I know. While we were there we saw farms, cacao, discos, cowthighs, and more! It's hard to put the trip into words, so I've included some favorite photos.
One of the special moments of the trip was when my farmer friend, Livardo, tried sweetriot and his comment, was 'Ave Maria!' (Essentially, he exclaimed, 'very yummy!') :)
Huge thanks to our hosts, Santiago and Patricia. They made the trip extra special. Santiago especially spent a holiday weekend taking care of us non-stop from the city to the farm to the disco. Santiago is a true rioter at heart. We can't wait to welcome our Latin amigos in NYC. Have you visited Latin America lately? I would love to hear about it.

Sarah, ave maria!!! Por favor next time you, or anyone from your team returns to Colombia, please contact me. Would love to host you and be of any help. You show a positive face of our country through your company, and that is truly appreciated. Un abrazo. Juan Jimenez
