ICFF in NYC is worth a visit.

I have never attended events for the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) before.  This year that all changed.  My architect and industrial design friends encouraged me to join, and the events are actually relevant to sweetriot.  This event only happens once a year, so it's worth putting on your calendar for May 2007.  Sometimes leaving the confines of your own little work world inspires you to think broader and more creatively.  (Plus, the events are fun too.)

I started with a stop at Karim Rashid's party where Karim expressed his fondness for sweetriot cacao.  We're lucky to have had him as a fan since the very beginning when we were featured at his holiday party.  I went from there to Vitra's special event and then to the most interesting of all, Mobile Living, where you could also step into a concept Toyota FR3 - very cool.  Kartell has their new decorative tables (pictured above) and a true highlight was of course all of the cacao eating rioters like  Karim, Sascha from FlavorPill, Joe, Agnes, Ramon, Elysha, Yoon and more.

At sweetriot we are designers too -- it just happens to not be furniture.  I find spending time in the design world eye-opening and full of broad thinking.  It is important to always try to think of the box.   I would encourage anyone in NYC to participate next year - it's in your backyard!  :)
