A Southern Season has been in business since 1975 and is a food lover's paradise. The tiny store expanded into a 28,000 sq. ft. space, which an NY Times critic called, "wall to wall and floor to ceiling, a visual and gustatory delight." Today it stands at 60,000 sq. ft. of food pleasure. (Considering I am about to move into a 200 sq. ft. NYC apartment, I am in awe. Simple awe.)
Nina and Vicki found many friendly Southerner's wanting to eat cacao and to share life stories. In fact, from what I understand, most visits to the cacao stand took many, many minutes as facts and ideas were exchanged.
Huge thanks to A Southern Season for hosting us this past weekend and to Nina and her mom for being such amazing cacao rioters.
