Wow - I'm sitting in the Salt Lake City airport on my way home from a trip to the Bay Area and Arizona! So much to share! I'll start with Arizona. I just attended the Social Venture Network annual Fall conference.
SVN is a group of entrepreneurs who definitely think business can change the world. Here are a few of my favorite friends from SVN above....Melissa Bradley, an amazing social entrepreneur, Denise Hamilton who created Co-op America and the Green Business movement, and Mark Albion, an old, old friend and author.
What I love about SVN is it's sense that one person can make a difference. Whole companies do not attend this conference - whole individuals do. My favorite speaker was Rita Bailey who spent 25 years at Southwest Airlines and reemphasized the importance of culture and people in an organization's success. I also showcased sweetriot at the Product Expo Fair. Many SVN friends had heard about my entrepreneurial pursuits over the past 1-2 years and were excited to see (and taste!) the end result. Until next time....
