The Point is the People.

When I was in undergrad, the Dean of my school at the University of Michigan had banners all over our main building – they said, “The Point is the People.” Every day when I walked inside, the banners with staff and student photos were the 1^st thing I saw. Dean White taught me an important lesson at a young age – indeed, the best organizations are built with the very best people. 

I want to take a moment and speak about the people (rioters) of sweetriot and THANK them again for their amazing work. 

Volunteer advisors:

I’ve had many mentors along the way and would never profess to making it alone. My volunteer advisors include my very 1^st manager at Yahoo, my 1^st investor, my 1^st professor at grad school and more.

Rioting gurus:

Many wonderful friends of mine have offered invaluable advice -- from the banker in California to the techie in NYC to the community activist at Craig List to the English editor/architect to the Chocolate Master in Seattle – you know who you are.

The angels:
sweetriot is privately funded by a small group of visionaries from around the world.  It is these individuals who think outside of the box and believe in business making a difference.

Fall/winter students:

As I began creating sweetriot, I reached out to students to help me shape the plan. There’s Raquel from Michigan and Margaret from Boston and over 10 others. Their energy fueled sweetriot from the very beginning.

Designers:

From our featured artist Mike Hammer to our creative lawyers Jerry and Thayer to our graphic designer Suzanne and our web gurus Jon and Rob - we could not have designed our organization without you!!

Summer interns:

I was so lucky to find Oliver and Laura for the summer. They are super talented 2^nd year students at Columbia Business School. They jumped in, worked on great projects, and have forever left their mark on sweetriot.

Nina:

Last but certainly not least is sweetriot’s first full-time team-member. She requires an entire entry – stay tuned.
