Blue thumbprint?

I met with someone today to asked me why the thumbprint in the logo was blue.  Well, the earth is blue in those ocean spots, which is a fair answer, but then there is the deep, dark sweetriot secret I'm about to share.  Well, you see, I am a complete Go, Blue!, Hail to the Victors!, University of MIchigan kinda gal.   Since creating a logo can be difficult, I decided I might as well choose Michigan blue to make things easier.  I didn't realize it might take some investigation along the way.  I googled, contacted the legal department, marketing department, alum department, and others at the University of Michigan trying to figure out - "What is the True Blue?"  I wrote many people and told them it was for good luck for my little start up and not for creating some knock-off Michigan merchandise.  :)  Luckily, a very nice lady in the 'guidelines' department answered one of my emails and told me right away the secret in order to make it UM's official blue.  My mom rushed over to my sister's house to secure her thumbprint to send to the sweetriot design center (the fantastic Suzanne); we added the special blue sauce, and the blue thumbprint was born!
